Our Setting

Cuckfield Pre-School was established 50 years ago and moved to its present site in the Village Hall in 1990. In recent years it has developed to incorporate all the changes in early years education so as to ensure children have the best possible start. The Revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides the basis for all the procedures and activities at Preschool. We have a strong belief in the policy of inclusion, and all children are very welcome.

We are registered with Ofsted for a maximum of 26 children per session and 5/6 adults. This ensures high quality care and maximises learning opportunities. Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) carry out a regular programme of inspections in all nursery groups. Our last three inspections (May 2007, April 2010, June 2016) produced excellent reports, and we were graded 'Outstanding' in all areas.

We are also a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance. This is a national organisation that provides staff training, campaigns for the needs of young children in education, and acts in an advisory capacity.
